Create & Cultivate Desert Pop-Up

Last month (I know, I’m behind), I went to weekend one of Coachella. While I was out there, I decided to spend Saturday in Palm Springs to go to the Create & Cultivate Desert Pop-Up.

Create & Cultivate is an online community and conference for women looking to create & cultivate the career of their dreams.”

I was hesitant to go alone to the event, but going solo pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me network with so many other female entrepreneurs and creatives.  It was refreshing to feel the sense of community among the women and openness to connect.

The event also had an amazing line-up of inspiring women who spoke about how they built their own brands and businesses.

The Speakers

Influencers changing the Fashion and Beauty Industry:

Brittany Xavier, Thrifts & Threads
Jill Wallace, Little Black Boots
Annie Lawless, Lawless Beauty
Jessica Franklin, Heygorjess
Carolina Lindo, I’m Not Sorry Darling

“The only person I’m in competition with is myself. Where was I three months or six months ago, and where I am now?”  -Jill Wallace

“There’s never a right time to start a company, so you might as well start now. Just have faith.”  -Annie Lawless

“You don’t need to know exactly where you’re going. Just be really focused and passionate about what you do and everything will fall into place.”    -Jessica Franklin

“You have to OK with change. Evolution is great. You’re not the same person you were 10 years ago, and your brand should evolve as well.”

“Live in the moment and learn. When we’re younger, we’re so concerned about what other people are thinking about you. Just live.”

Content Creators Building a Business

Jaci Marie, What We Said & Getaway Frame
Keltie Knight, LadyGang
Nicole Williams English, Nia Lynn

“Whoever is paying you is always going to say there’s no money available. There is always money available. Be difficult. Ask for the big money.” – Keltie Knight

“Some of the biggest opportunities I’ve gotten are because I’ve asked for it. If I’m not asking, someone else is.”  – Lindsey Albanese

The Location

The event took place at the Ace Hotel & Swim Club. The desert vibes and aesthetic were seriously on point. There were lots of drinks, food, and cute branded pop-ups throughout the venue. If you ever have the chance, I definitely recommend going to a Create & Cultivate event.

I’m so glad I was able to make it to this event and cannot wait to attend more in the future.   Click here to learn more about Create & Cultivate and their Desert Pop-Up.
