Talking Lips: My Go-To Lip Products
lip

My favorite lip products:

lip_products

Buxom: my go-to color is ‘hot toddy’, love Buxom because it has hyaluronic acid in it which helps with wrinkles/plumps your lips
Glamglow: kind of messy/applicator isn’t the best, but plumps + tingles/burns, I use ‘screen kiss’
Laneige: use this before bed for an overnight sleeping lip mask
Patchology lip gels: love the Patchology lip gel masks (other brands are meh) especially during the winter for chapped/dehydrated lips
Patchology lip servicelove this before bed, long-lasting lip treatment, super hydrating
Soap & Glory Pillow Plump: more affordable, good for every day – I like the clear color and user it as a base for lipstick or if I’m being an extra psycho with the plumpness, I will layer my Buxom or Glamglow plumpers over it.
Dionis lip balm: tastes amazing, love this stuff so much, get it in vanilla bean

That one time I got lip injections….

I love a good plump, full lip, so I’ve always wanted to get my lips done. I didn’t really want to spend the money on it though (which is why I tried/tested almost every lip plumper out there), but I had a chance for free lip injections (sounds sketchy, you should never get injections for your face for free, I KNOW, I KNOW) BUT I did some research, knew people who had gone there before and the reason it was free was because they needed “models” for training.

Whatever – I really wanted my lips done and I wasn’t going to say no. It was risky but turns out it was totally fine, I got them done in January at BB Aesthetics in Columbus and they did a great job. I got one syringe of the Juvederm Ultra Plus XC.  The first two days I looked a little crazy. Like I had to wear a hat to work and hope no one noticed my SWOLLEN as f*ck lips. My boyfriend was like a little terrified of them but I loved it.

Final thoughts: My lips went down relatively quickly.  I wish they were a little bit plumper and want to get more done, but also don’t know if I can justify spending $$$$ when it lasted like 2ish months for me. Also, for me, it was PAINFUL to get done. I had numbing cream, but I thought the injections hurt so badly. Some people don’t think it hurts at all, so I don’t know. Would I do it again? I mean like yes…but kind of hate how expensive it is.
