Managing My Pain

Hi babes! I recently shared on Instagram more about my accident that happened two years ago. If you are new around here, you can read about it on this blog post. Anyways, I wanted to share more about my recovery and how I’ve dealt with the pain from my injuries. I would say one of the biggest struggles I have is with my lower back pain. I had multiple spinal fractures and had to have a spinal fusion from my L1 – L5 and since the accident, I have had back pain pretty much every day. Luckily, I’ve found a few different ways that have helped me deal with it.

In the beginning, it was really bad so I was on a few medications + pain killers, but for me personally, that was not something I wanted to depend on forever. I’ve tried a lot of different alternative options throughout the last two years and found a few that really have helped me. I’ve tried everything from dry needling, cupping, electronic tens units, physical therapy, water therapy and the list goes on.

I would say that cupping and warm water therapy have been my favorite and most helpful for me. Cupping helps with the pain and also inflammation and increasing blood flow, like a deep-tissue massage. It helps me stretch out my back in places I am unable to do so on my own, especially since I have limited movement in my lower back from the fusion.  I also think it’s super relaxing. Warm water therapy has been so beneficial for me as well. It helped with my mobility and strength without having to put additional stress on my joints. Also, floating in the deep end is amazing relief on my back.

I also recently tried Omax Health Cyrofreeze CBD Roll-On Gel, which I have really liked! I love the cooling feeling that it gives as soon as I apply it. It has 10 natural pain-relief ingredients that help support a fast recovery by blocking pain receptors, reducing inflammation and improving muscle/joint flexibility. I feel relief almost instantly and love that I can bring it with me in my bag and apply it as I need throughout the day. I like to use the roll-on gel for additional relief along with the other ways I manage my pain. The gel helps with any aches and soreness I have, which allows me to stay active without being in constant pain all day.  You can shop their website here and use code Neeloo20 to get a discount on your order.
